Saudi Aramco has announced a series of significant oil and gas discoveries in the Eastern Province and the Empty Quarter, further cementing Saudi Arabia’s position as a global energy powerhouse. The discoveries include six new oilfields, two oil reservoirs, two natural gas fields, and four natural gas reservoirs. Notable among these is the Jabu oilfield, producing 800 barrels per day of very light crude, and the Ayfan-2 well, which generates 2,840 barrels per day of very light crude along with approximately 12,500 cubic meters of gas per day. These discoveries highlight Saudi Arabia’s vast hydrocarbon potential and the company’s ongoing success in exploration, particularly in difficult terrains like the Empty Quarter.

In addition to the oil discoveries, Aramco made substantial advancements in natural gas exploration. The Ghizlan field’s Unayzah B/C reservoir produces 32 million cubic feet of gas per day, alongside 2,525 barrels per day of condensate. The Araam and Mihwaz fields also delivered impressive results, with Araam-1 generating 24 million cubic feet of gas per day and 3,000 barrels per day of condensate. The Empty Quarter’s Marzouq field demonstrated significant natural gas flows, producing nearly 20 million cubic feet of gas daily across two reservoirs. These discoveries will not only support Saudi Arabia’s domestic energy needs but also enhance its capacity to meet international demand, further solidifying the Kingdom’s leadership in global energy markets and contributing to long-term economic growth and sustainability goals.
