BP has signed a concession agreement with ADNOC and its partners to participate in the development of the Bab Gas Cap project in the United Arab Emirates. Under the agreement, BP will acquire a 10% stake in the project, further strengthening its presence in the UAE’s energy sector.
The Bab Gas Cap project encompasses three reservoirs within the Bab Field and is expected to produce up to 1.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day. The development is aimed at supporting the UAE’s growing energy demand and enhancing the country’s gas production capacity.
ADNOC will retain a majority 60% interest in the concession, while the remaining stake will be shared among several international partners, including TotalEnergies, CNPC International, INPEX, China ZhenHua Oil, and GS Energy. The partnership reflects a collaborative approach to advancing one of the region’s significant gas development projects.
In addition to its equity participation, BP has been appointed as the asset lead for the Bab Oil Field. This role underscores the company's technical expertise and strategic involvement in optimizing the field’s development and operational performance.
