The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has successfully completed the relocation and adjustment of a strategic gas pipeline in the emirate of Fujairah. The project was carried out under the supervision of SEWA’s Kalba Department and adhered to the highest safety and quality standards. This initiative forms part of SEWA’s broader efforts to upgrade critical infrastructure to support regional development.

According to a report by Zawya, the newly relocated pipeline spans a length of 4,200 metres, has a diameter of 10 inches, and operates at a pressure of 60 bar. The total cost of the relocation project reached AED 8,585,000, with an additional AED 1,250,000 spent on dismantling the old pipeline. The project is designed to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the gas supply network in the area.

Engineer Yousif Al Hammadi, Director of the Kalba Department at SEWA, highlighted that the relocation reflects SEWA’s commitment to strengthening Sharjah’s natural gas infrastructure. He emphasized that such projects are essential for ensuring sustainable and safe utility services that can meet the growing needs of the population and support ongoing urban expansion.

Al Hammadi further noted that the pipeline plays a pivotal role in the gas supply network, contributing to its stability and operational performance. By enhancing infrastructure resilience, SEWA aims to maintain uninterrupted gas supply and support the emirate’s long-term development goals, reinforcing its dedication to providing reliable public utilities.
